Imagine 85 Welsh men's voices raised in song during a concert with local Celtic group Out of Alba at the First Baptist Church June 10 at 7:30 p.m.

The Vancouver Welsh Men's Choir will be touring Northern B.C. and Margaret Coyle, from Out of Alba, said it truly is an honour to share the stage with the group.

"We're really excited about it," said Coyle. "It's a pretty big deal. The choir has an incredible sound and the acoustics at the First Baptist Church are really nice. This will be very powerful performance."

The choir and Out of Alba will open the show, then each will do a set, and then they will once again come together for the finale, said Coyle.

"We seem to always get the dream gigs, you know," she added. "We're very blessed because we have shared the stage with a lot of well-known, great performers and we're very lucky to be doing this show as well."

It's been 20 years since Jim and Margaret Coyle came to Prince George. It was just a year later they formed Out of Alba. Rounding out the band is Irishman Alan O'Reilly, American-Welsh Carolyn Kelly and Canadian Jim Sayle.

The Vancouver Welsh Men's Choir was formed in 1980 by the Vancouver Welsh Society and are led by professional musicians.

The choir travels across the globe and has toured in Russian, Holland, Germany, as well as Australia, New Zealand and central Europe.

Each year the choir tours throughout British Columbia and this year's visit to Prince George will be a real treat for the ears, said Coyle.

Tickets are available from Books & Co., 1685 Third Avenue, for $25 for adults and $22 for students and seniors.
