The Central BC Railway & Forestry Museum is a non-profit society that preserves the industrial heritage of North Central BC and they are looking for a few people to round out their staff.

The Museum is looking for people who want to make a difference and there’s plenty of opportunity.

There are several summer jobs and one full-time, year-long position as well.

Career opportunities include:

Curatorial intern, year-long position

Under the direction of the curator, the curatorial intern will take on the independent project of creating an in-depth condition report for each of the historic rail cars and buildings. Graduates with an interest in collections management and industrial history are encouraged to apply. The Central BC Railway & Forestry Museum is an equal opportunity employer, and encourage participation from the Government of Canada’s job equity groups. Job starts in September and ends August 2024.

Curatorial assistant, from May to August

Successful candidate(s) would work under the supervision of the curator to assist in the seasonal maintenance of artifacts and the exterior restoration of the Penny Station.

Exhibit technician, from May to August

Successful candidate(s) would work under the supervision of the curator to assist in the research and implementation of both permanent and temporary exhibits.

Programming and event assistant, from May to August

Successful candidate(s) would work under the supervision of the programming and marketing manager to would assist in the planning and running of events and programming, as well as the restoration and building of event displays.

Heritage interpreter, from May to August

Successful candidate(s) would work under the supervision of the programming and marketing manager to assist in running, researching and developing tours and programming

Gift shop attendant, from May to August

Successful candidate(s) would work under the supervision of the executive director to assist in running the Gift Shop and maintaining the Visitors Centre.
