The FrancoFun Festival offers a week-long celebration of winter with a number of activities for all ages beginning this weekend.

Le Cercle des Canadiens Franais 26th annual event is on from Saturday through Feb. 5 at different locations around the city of Prince George.

It begins Saturday at 1088 Gillette St. with two Sugar Shack Brunches at 10:45 a.m. and 12:25 p.m. with musical group, Trad'badour, which is offering workshops in Prince George at both Lac des Bois and College Heights in Prince George.

Trad'badour from Alberta, who will teach the children about the Klondike, are partnering with Canadian Parents for French.

The day offers snow sculpture competition, craft corner, moustache contest, horse sleigh rides, and the legendary maple toffee on snow from 12 to 1:30 p.m.

*Jan. 31 offers preschool story time at 10:30 a.m. at the French Canadian Association, 1752 Fir St.

Mme. Chantal and friend, Sophie, welcome families with preschool children for a story, dance and song as well as a maple syrup treat.

*Feb. 2 brings the movie Piche's Story during Movie Night at 6:30 p.m. at CNC. A seniors luncheon with entertainment for members and their friends will be held at 11:30 a.m. at Exploration Place.

*Feb. 3 is Hockey Night and Family Skating with hot chocolate and doughnuts at Southridge Community Rink.

*Feb. 5 is the wrap up day with a show and dance at Columbus Community Centre Hall on Domano featuring the Blackthorn Band of Vancouver and Andrew McFayden, a local Gaelic singer.
