The Community Arts Council of Prince George & District presents a new event June 10 to 12 at CN Centre called The BC Gourmet Arts Festival.

There's a three-day gourmet and artisanal showcase taking place at CN Centre June 10 to 12 hosted by the Community Arts Council of Prince George & District called the BC Gourmet Arts Festival.

The event will see national gourmet producers doing their thing right alongside Northern BC's top artists, artisans, guilds, food creators and local hospitality personalities with a fun-filled day geared for the whole family.

Following the much-beloved Studio Fair format, this new festival will put Prince George on the national culinary map.

The event will be held inside and outside of CN Centre and features:

• A community BBQ celebrating our frontline workers, in conjunction with the Prince George Chamber of Commerce – Friday

• The PG Potters’ Guild “Great Northern Chili Cook-off” – Saturday

• Prince George Celebrity Chef Tasting Event - Sunday

Gourmet artisans on the main floor of the CN Centre will include various food types, plus desserts and sweets, artisanal spirits, craft beer producers, and more. The artist and artisanal contributors will be focusing on “set the table” items relating to gourmet experiences, including pottery, dishware, glassware, textiles. As with all CAC signature events, the region’s leading arts guilds and arts organizations will also be present to engage with guests.

“We can hardly wait to see the CN Centre filled with some of the region and nation’s top gourmet producers, alongside our extremely talented local artists, resulting in one of the most unique food-themed events in Canada,” Eli Klasner, CAC executive director, said. “We are working with our event co-producers so that the festival will be a truly community-focused event that encourages residents from all walks of life, and visitors to the area, to enjoy three full days of shopping, tasting, and fun social activities.”

Event dates and times are:

•           Friday, June 10 – 1 pm to 8 pm

•           Saturday, June 11 – 10 am to 6 pm

•           Sunday, June 12 – 10 am to 4 pm

As with this past year’s very successful Studio Fair Marketplace, visitors are asked to make a voluntary donation at the door, along with non-perishable food items. 100 per cent of cash donations will support the CAC and its many programs, services, and events that benefit the Prince George region.

The CAC is currently accepting applications from vendors. Information on the event, vendor fees and booth options, sponsorship information, an event blog, and other FAQs are found at www.bcgourmet.ca.

The 2022 BC Gourmet Arts Festival will be compliant with all provincial COVID-19 related health requirements.
