The Awakening Music Festival is holding a wakeup event in Prince George.

The annual electronic music extravaganza - the largest of its kind in the northern region - happens July 15-18 in the mountain splendor of the Sukunka Valley near Tumbler Ridge.

This year's main event has about 90 music artists slated to perform, plus all the other arts and culture action that blends into festivals like this.

"Taking place on a private ranch in the lush Sukunka Valley the property has abundant open space for camping, a beautiful river and beach front, and three amazing stages for you to dance the day and night away," said an Awakening Music Festival organizer. "Meet new friends, reconnect with old ones, and enjoy some of the best vibes the B.C. festival circuit has to offer."

To give local audiences a miniature version, an appetizer if you will, the Awakening organization is spinning some joy at Coach's Corner with a few of the acts scheduled for the July rhythmization. Performers Pat Wise, DJ Nige and Jay Pizzy will be at the downtown nightspot as well as up in the valley, and the local tester will also feature Luddha, Phat Funk and visual art by Fresco.

The local event happens on Saturday night starting at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $5 for those arriving before 9 p.m. or $10 after

9 p.m.

All money raised will go to festival operations and audience experience.
