More than 1,200 students will attend today's School District 57 third annual Arts Festival, best known as The Show running from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Civic Centre.

This year's event has a Medieval theme and there will be an adaptation of a jousting event and sword fighting tournament taking place during the lunch hour, where elementary school children will cheer on their favourite champion.

Performance based community organizations like Excalibur Theatre Arts Company, local music group Navaz, and story tellers from the library, will be entertaining all the students who attend The Show.

There will be six different shows going on at once, said organizer, Tim Yule.

"There will be performances going on throughout the Civic Centre and we have buskers outside and art activities all over," he said.

Well-known Northern B.C. blues guitarist Rachelle Van Zanten will be performing at 11 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. to close the show.
