Comedy Becky's New Car is presented by Theatre North West at Parkhill Centre and tickets are still available for shows until Oct. 16 and due to popular demand there are added show times Oct. 18 to 21. Tickets are at Books & Co., 1685 Third Avenue.

Adrian Glynn, a Vancouver based troubadour will bring his depression-era folk and blues music Sunday 7 p.m. at Art Space, above Books & Co., 1685 third Avenue. Tickets are still available and cost $10.

Little Black Dress is a fashion show taking place Friday night at 8 p.m. at the Prince George Playhouse. Proceeds go to the Prince George Hospice Society. Tickets are $30 at Studio 2880, Butterfly Threads and the Hospice Society.

GP Lainsbury will launch Versions of North at Cafe Voltaire Monday at 7 p.m. In the book the author attempts to locate poetic consciousness in the drifting concept of north, using avant-garde techniques to reveal connections between disparate elements of signification. This is a free event at Books & Co., 1685 Third Avenue.

Wayne Johnston will present , Wednesday, October 19 at 7 p.m. in Caf Voltaire, Reading and Signing A World Elsewhere Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Cafe Voltaire. Johnston returns to the territory of his No. 1 national bestseller The Colony of Unrequited Dreams with this sweeping tale of ambition, remorse and hope. This is a free event at Books & Co., 1695 Third Avenue.

Open Mic Night is held at Coach's Corner every Thursday at 8 p.m. All entertainers welcome, including poets, comedians, DJs, singers and bands. Register at 7:30 p.m. Stage is set with two microphones, two speakers and a mixer. All musicians are asked to bring their own instruments. All performers are presented with a Coach's gift certificate.

The North Cariboo SPCA is holding a silent auction and dinner at North 54 called Spay-ghetti and No Balls Sunday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. as a fundraising event for veterinary care for the animals at the local shelter. Tickets are at North 54, 1493 Third Avenue and the shelter, 4011 Lansdowne Road, and are $50 with proceeds going to the local SPCA.

The Prince George Library is hosting two stars of True Blood, Jim Parrack, who plays Hoyt and Kristin Bauer, who plays Pam during the Hot Blooded Ball, a fundraiser to make improvements at the Bob Harkins branch of the library. The event takes place Oct. 28 at the Ramada Hotel. Two Rivers Gallery presents Menagerie, A Night To Let It Out, will be held Oct. 29 at the gallery. This is a fundraiser for the gallery programs.
