Prince George Legion hosts a dance every Friday and Saturday from 8 p.m. to midnight at 1335 Seventh Avenue. There is a live band. Cost is $10 for non-members, $8 for members. For more information call 250-562-1292.

The Prince George Symphony Orchestra begins another exciting series of music and stories at the PG library Bob Harkins Branch Saturday at 2 p.m. with a story by Robert Heidbreder called Drumheller Dinosaur Dance. This story is a perfect prequel to Halloween festivities as we meet a group of dinosaurs who wake up, reset their bones and party through the night.

Farmers' Market will be held indoors and outdoors every Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of, and across from, the courthouse at the corner of Third Avenue and George Street. Huble Homestead will have a Thanksgiving celebration Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and everyone is invited for this old-fashioned event, which features harvest activities like pumpkin carving, scarecrow making, and apple bobbing. Children can create and take home pioneer crafts while staff will make sure the General Store has plenty of homemade apple cider on hand to keep everyone warm. Take advantage of the special Thanksgiving menu and have a slice of delicious pumpkin pie for dessert.

Kiki the Eco Elf will be performing free in Prince George Thursday at the YMCA, 2020 Massey Drive at 10 a.m. for ages 3 to 5 and at YMCA Highland Family Development Centre, 155 McDermid Drive at 3:30 p.m. for ages 6 to 12. Kiki will teach children how to protect the Earth through engaging story-telling, interactive songs, and entertaining clowning/face painting.

Open Mic Night is held at Coach's Corner every Thursday at 8 p.m. All entertainers welcome, including poets, comedians, DJs, singers and bands. Register at 7:30 p.m. Stage is set with two microphones, two speakers and a mixer. All musicians are asked to bring their own instruments. All performers are presented with a Coach's gift certificate.

Two Rivers Gallery is hosting the second annual Menagerie where guests are encouraged to let it out Saturday, Oct. 29 at the gallery. This is a fundraiser for programs offered at the gallery and everyone is invited to attend.

The Prince George Library is hosting two stars of True Blood, Jim Parrack, who plays Hoyt and Kristin Bauer, who plays Pam during the Hot Blooded Ball, a fundraiser to make improvements at the Bob Harkins branch of the library. The event takes place Oct. 28 at the Ramada Hotel.
