Sounds of India with Josh Feinberg, sitarist, accompanied on tabla by Ravi Albright, will perform Friday at 8 during an evening of mystical music from the Indian subcontinent. It is said that Raga, the melodies of Indian music, have the power to heal one's soul. The event will be held at ArtSpace, 1685 Third Avenue, above Books & Co. Tickets are $20 at Books & Co.

Cafe Voltaire hosts Jim Sayle and his fabulous fiddle, Eric Tompkins and his golden guitar and Neda Jalali and her voluptuous voice Friday at 8 p.m. Cafe Voltaire is in Books & Co., 1685 Third Avenue. There is never a cover charge.

During the month of February The Two Rivers Art Gallery and the Prince George Symphony Orchestra are partnering to host The One Song Exhibit. On Saturday at 2 p.m. members of the PGSO and the public library team up to treat young audiences to a free multimedia performance of The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins by Dr. Seuss.

ArtSpace hosts a free screening of the film Sisters of Karnataka Saturday at 7 p.m. This film covers the topic of sex workers and the struggle against HIV/AIDS in Southern India. After the film there will be a focused discussion.

Snow Daze winter festival presented by the Mardi Gras society will be held Feb. 4 to 20. There are more than 70 events taking place around the city. For more information visit www.snowdaze.ca or call 250-564-3737.

Mr. P.G. pageant will be held at the Coast Inn of the North Friday at 6:30 p.m. This year's theme is TV game shows. Tickets are $30.

Chinese New Year will be celebrated Saturday at the Exploration Place. It's the year of the rabbit. Tickets are $65 per person, $120 per couple and table of eight are $500. Snow Daze Storytime takes place at the library Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Settle in, get cozy and enjoy an adventurous tale at the Bob Harkins branch.

Cougars vs. Kelowna Rockets at CN Centre Saturday night at 7 p.m.

Francofun Winter Festival Show and Dance with Blackthorn Band takes place Saturday at 8 p.m. Blackthorn is a Vancouver based Celtic folk group whose repertoire celebrates the traditional music of Ireland and Scotland as well as folk music of English and French Canada. Opening for Blackthorn is Prince George's very own Andrew McFayden at the Columbus Community Center. For more information call 250-561-2565.
