Some of the city's most celebrated creators and makers will be together Saturday, meeting the public and displaying loads of art for sale.

The Two Rivers Gallery is holding its annual Artisans' Fair, with a who's who of local artist involved in this year's event. Among the highlight names are:

Karin Dayton

Ian King

Frances Gobbi

Christine Jackman

George Lesniewitz

Wendy Young

Rebecca Austin

Mo Hamilton

Kathleen Angelski

Robyn Alden

P.G. Wood Turners' Guild

They cover genres like painting, photography, soaps and lotions, sculpture, glass, mixed media, wood, canning, jewelry, linens and much more.

"We have a regular rotation of artists featured here in the gallery's shoppe - some mainstays and some who are more sporadic - but those are people who have a relationship here, they've got a track record, and we try to focus the Artisan Fair on those people," said Shae Morin, one of the fair's organizers.

"The Prince George Wood Turners' Guild, for example, are a flagship group for the Two Rivers Gallery, there's a great relationship there, so we wanted them to be featured at this event. We try to build the participants around a combination of mainstays and emerging talent, and a balance between people who have had shows in our gallery spaces and those who exhibit in our shoppe."

The event is partly a one-day exhibition of some stellar work by some of the area's most talented artists, and partly it is a sales event for these artists.

"Artisans' Fair brings work straight from their studios and workshops," Morin said. "It's a perfect opportunity to find unique, handcrafted gifts for everyone on your list. You'll also be supporting the local economy and creativity in Prince George."

The fair takes place Saturday from

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Two Rivers Gallery.
