Alice extends her Wonderland stay

Alice got some royal advice while in Wonderland. She was told by no less than the Queen of Hearts herself that "sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." The message got through to Theatre North West.

Alice got some royal advice while in Wonderland. She was told by no less than the Queen of Hearts herself that "sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

The message got through to Theatre North West. They've had to add as many as six additional performances just to squeeze all the fans into their theatrical tea party. Instead of closing on Monday as was originally scheduled, Alice In Wonderland had to be held over a couple of days and now held over again for even more performances. The new closing date is Friday, with tickets flying out the door like smoke from the pipe of a caterpillar.

The play is directed by TNW's own artistic manager Jack Grinhaus. It stars Sharmila Dey in the role of Alice, Azeen Nathoo as the Queen of Hearts, Dale Yim as the rabbit and Tweedledum, Benjamin Blais as the Mad Hatter and various others, Roy Lewis as the smoking caterpillar and Humpty Dumpty, Caitlyn Fysh as the duchess and white queen, Elena Anciro as the March Hare and Tweedledee, Zarrah Holvick as the red queen and the 5 of Spades, the double-casting of Meg Peters and Claire Ramsay in a few roles, and Samuel Sholdice as Dinah and the audience-popular one-man-band positioned at the lowest point on the mountainous stage.

Showtime is 8 p.m. and tickets are available at Books & Company or online via the Theatre North West website.
