A man has been charged in connection with the death of a baby in Williams Lake.
RCMP responded to the area hospital in Williams Lake on Friday, Dec. 8, 2023, following a report of a deceased seven-week-old infant.
The infant showed signs of trauma, and police were immediately notified.
Officers later visited the family's home, where they found another child also suffering from trauma. The BC RCMP Major Crime Unit was called in and took over the investigation.
On Friday, May 23, 2025, the BC Prosecution Service approved charges in connection with the case.
Russel Solomon was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and assault causing bodily harm in relation to the second child. He remains in police custody.
RCMP are not providing further details at this time but say more information may be released as it becomes available.
