Quesnel RCMP, with the assistance of the North District Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant for firearms in the 1800 block of West Fraser Road on on Friday, June 6 at about 7:30 a.m.
The road was temporarily shut down for the public’s safety while police conducted the search.
"I want to thank those affected by the road closure for their patience while police dealt with this incident," said Sgt. Clay Kronebusch.
Police seized eight firearms.
A 50-year-old man was arrested and held for a court appearance.
The investigation is still ongoing and no further information was available, RCMP stated.
