No active COVID-19 cases at Jubilee Lodge

The COVID-19 outbreak at Jubilee Lodge appears to be winding down.

As of Monday, there were no active cases in the 66-bed facility, Northern Health said.

The outbreak was first declared on Sept. 5 after six patients and one employee had tested positive for the disease.

The count since grew to 20 residents and three staff while four more were were epidemiologically linked due to exposure with a confirmed case.

Moreover, the disease claimed six lives, up by one since an update was  issued on Sept. 16. Two of those fatalities were epi-linked.

"Enhanced outbreak control measures remain in effect at Jubilee Lodge, while public health officials continue to monitor the situation to there is no additional transmission of illness in the facility," Northern Health said.

An earlier COVID-19 outbreak at Jubilee Lodge from December 2020 to February 2021 claimed the lives of 17 residents.
