Northern Health declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Jubilee Lodge in Prince George on Monday, following lab-confirmed positive cases among six patients and one employee.

Social visits have been temporarily suspended but essential visits can continue. Other enhanced control measures are in effect at Jubilee Lodge, including increased cleaning and infection control measures, enhanced symptom monitoring among all staff and patients, as well as reduced movement of staff and patients in the facility.

Public health officials will be monitoring the situation carefully over coming weeks and will only declare the outbreak over when they are confident that chains of transmission have been stopped.

An earlier COVID-19 outbreak at Jubilee Lodge from December 2020 to February 2021 claimed the lives of 17 residents.
