It could have been a $15-million windfall for someone but, sadly, it won’t be now.
After a full year since the drawing of a prize-winning Lotto Max ticket from Aug. 13 of last year, the time to claim the prize has come and gone.
“We’re disappointed that the winner did not step forward, but the funds will go back into the national lottery pool,” said Shelley Wong with the B.C. Lottery Corporation.
The ticket, purchased somewhere in Vancouver, was actually bought on a Friday the 13th.
“We’re reminding lottery players to keep their tickets in a safe place or to consider purchasing tickets (online) to receive prize win notifications,” added Wong.
This Friday’s jackpot is an estimated $31 million.
