DELTA, B.C. — Police in Delta, B.C., say one person has been shot following an incident near a gas station on Saturday. Investigators say they believe the shooting was targeted. They didn't say what condition the victim is in.

PORT MOODY, B.C. — Police say a search for a missing person has turned into a homicide investigation after human remains found in Hope, B.C., were identified.

Trina Hunt went missing Jan. 18, 2021, in Port Moody. Now after weeks of searching, police have revealed remains found in Hope March 29 are those of the Port Moody woman. The investigation has pivoted to possible murder.

The woman has spoken to Glacier Media and has identified the individual as Vancouver Canucks forward Jake Virtanen, 24. 

VANCOUVER — The City of Vancouver says the financial impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic threaten to shutter the long-running Pacific National Exhibition if the non-profit organization isn't able to secure emergency funding from the province.

VICTORIA — British Columbia's solicitor general says police conducting checks will only ask drivers and not their passengers whether they're travelling for non-essential reasons as part of an enforcement plan aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19.

Once registered, they will receive a notification once they are eligible for a booking.

VANCOUVER — The City of Vancouver says a tent encampment in Strathcona Park has come to a close as the majority of people who had been sleeping there have now moved into government-organized accommodations.

A representative says the SPCA has handed the breeder a $5,570.25 bill to cover boarding costs for the dozens of dachshunds that were housed by the organization over the last couple of weeks.
