How to Bid
Navigating the Items
You can view all items, view items by Category, or view items by the Selling Business.
Bidding
Click “Bid” and follow the on-screen instructions. You must enter your phone number even if you are a Registered User. This information is private, only Citizen staff will be able to see your phone number.
You can choose to bid Anonymously. Only Citizen staff will be able to see your name.
Can I retract a bid?
Please bid carefully as this will impact following bids.
In the case of an error, please contact The Citizen for assistance.
Opening Bid Minimums:
The Citizen in partnership with the Selling Businesses has set minimum prices on all items based on their Original Retail Price.
I am the successful bidder, what now?
The Citizen will email you with further instructions.
You have 7-days from the close of the auction to pay for your item. Special arrangements can be made, but you must make them with The Citizen via email within the 7-day window.
If you do not pay for your item within 7-days, the second-place bidder will be contacted.
If you are the second-place bidder and contacted regarding an unclaimed item, you will have 7-days to pay for the auction item.
In the instance that neither the first place or second place bidder collect the item, it will be listed in the paper for general collection?
Payment
Payment will be collected by The Prince George Citizen. We are able to take cash, debit, and credit cards in-person at our office located at 505 4th Ave. Prince George, BC V2L 3H2. Credit cards can be taken over the phone or via secure online payment at request. Our office hours are Monday to Friday 8:30AM to 4:30PM.
Taxes: Federal and Provincial Tax laws apply. The same taxes will be applied as if you were to purchase the item directly from the Selling Business. All items subject to tax are clearly marked when placing your bid.
Collecting Items
Once paid for The Citizen will provide you with a voucher to collect your items from the Selling Business.
Gift Cards will be available for pick-up at The Citizen following payment.

FAQ:
Q: When does the Auction close?
A: The PG Auction will close at 8:00PM PST on Sunday, June 22nd, 2025. Some items will close as early as 8:00PM PST on Friday, June 20th.
Q: Can I have my items be shipped to me?
A: Shipping or delivery arrangements on items (excluding Gift Cards) is at the discretion of the Selling Business. Any shipping or freight charges are the responsibility of the bidder and are not included in the final bid price. Please contact The Prince George Citizen regarding the mailing of Gift Cards.
Q: How do I pay for my items?
A: If you are the successful bidder, The Citizen will contact you via email or phone to provide details. Payments will be accepted at The Citizen office.
