Chances are you could be blowing out candles and celebrating much more than your birthday this year.

That’s because Prince George’s Treasure Cove Casino is holding special “Birthday Bingo” days at the home of B.C.’s largest bingo hall.

“Our Birthday Bingo day will be held on the second Friday of each month, and when people come in for the evening bingo session at 6:15, and if it’s their birth month, they just show ID and get $20 in free slot machine play, and a $5 bingo coupon,” says Amanda Chandler, the casino’s marketing manager. “Plus, everyone else playing there that night receives a break-open ($0.50 Pull Tab) ticket.”

And to keep the party going, birthday cake will be served in the main hall and show lounge.

“The idea is to celebrate on a monthly basis with all of our patrons who are having a birthday,” Chandler says.

With close to 700 bingo seats, there will be room for plenty of birthday players and their friends.

“We are the largest bingo hall in British Columbia,” Chandler says, adding it’s not only top in the number of electronic terminals it has (655), but also revenue.

“People who love bingo simply love bingo,” Chandler says. “It has such a diehard following. They are dedicated.”

Large prize pots and consolation games are among the attractions.

“There’s plenty of incentive to play,” Chandler says. “Plus, we have such a wonderful, friendly, brightly-lit and well-maintained facility where people are warmly welcomed.”

Since the bingo hall is located inside a full-blown casino there are many other gaming options to keep players entertained.

“Before, after, and during bingo intermissions, there are plenty of ways to play. And our customers can also enjoy our famous Bingo Nachos,” Chandler adds. “It’s simply cheese nacho chips with cheese sauce, but they are absolutely the best.”

Most of all, visitors can play with the notion their games go to support a host of charities as - under BC gaming laws - 88 cents from every dollar wagered is allocated through gaming grants to non-profit organizations that benefit the communities they serve.
