We all deserve a creative outlet, to be in touch with our inner child again and to express our creativity. New research shows that visits to art galleries are beneficial to our health, reduce stress and may assist you in living a happier, longer life.

“Everyone should have a chance to take part in cultural activities, so Two Rivers Gallery is now offering ‘Admission by Donation’ for the entire year,” says Executive Director Carolyn Holmes. “We are really proud to be accessible and welcoming. We have removed financial barriers to encourage people to pay what they can. Donations enable the gallery to offer great programs and exhibitions throughout the year, and we still offer complimentary admission for people who self-identify as Indigenous.”

“We usually display three exhibitions at a time,” explains Holmes. “There is a beautiful open atrium upstairs, a MakerLab space and we have a room that we call the Wild Side. It is a wonderful family space with a puppet theatre, lots of puppets and creative books, building and sculpting toys, a light table and other play activities for children to get them experimenting.”

There is something for everyone. Experience the exhibitions. Make some art. Get inspired.

“Get a taste for the variety of art we host. We have six exhibitions in the main gallery this year featuring a number of local, BC and national artists,” Holmes says. “We have a community exhibition space in the Rustad Galleria highlighting more local artists that change just about every month. The self-guided experience takes you through the gallery and introduces the artists whose work is on display.”

For every exhibition, there is an activity in the studio downstairs. Unleash your own creativity by making works in response to what you see in the gallery. It gives each individual a chance to express themselves and explore at their own pace.

Visit and learn about the enriching programs and exciting events offered at Two Rivers Gallery. Open every day until 5 p.m. and on Thursdays until 9 p.m, you are sure to find an opportunity to explore and create.
