Fresh off a 1-0 victory against the Thompson Rivers University Wolfpack on Thursday to open their 2019 Canada West regular season, the UNBC Timberwolves looked to carry forward the momentum from that win into their game against the UBCO Heat on Saturday afternoon at Masich Place Stadium.

The T'wolves struck first with Mikaela Cadorette setting up Sofia Jones to score the opening goal of the match 13:08 in the first half putting UNBC up 1-0. Despite pressure from the Heat, the score remained 1-0 until 83:38 in the second half when Paige Payne set up Sofia Jones for her second goal of the match. Less than a minute later Julia Babicz set up Claire Jones at 84:24 in the second half to put the game out of reaching for the visiting UBCO team.

The 3-0 victory moves the UNBC Timberwolves women's soccer team to 2-0-0 on the season.

The assist today by Paige Payne gives her 18 career points making her the all-time points leader for UNBC women's soccer breaking the record previously held by Sidney Roy.
