A dozen members of the Prince George Pisces summer swim club earned spots in the upcoming provincial championships thanks to their performances at regionals in Dawson Creek last weekend.
Provincials are Aug. 17-19 in Surrey.
At the regional meet, Pisces athletes broke several records. Individually, Ian Williams set a new regional mark in the 100-metre breaststroke for Division 8 boys. Williams was also part of a Division 8 boys team that established new meet records in the medley relay and freestyle relay. Other team members were Rory Boyle, Kyle Hicks and Fraser MacRae.
In Division 3 girls, Addison Evans, Adison Grady, Abby Spencer and Alysha Cheang broke a meet mark in the free relay. And, in Division 4 girls, Emma Watson, Brooklyn Fochler, Sarra Gaal and Mya Blackburn bettered their own freestyle relay club record by three seconds.
