Koops Bike Shop has been keeping Prince George’s wheels turning for the last 50 years.

The shop has a full-time team of mechanics, all equipped with expert knowledge of all makes and models of bikes. In addition to bikes, they can repair some models of strollers, wheelchairs and walkers as well.

Ready to upgrade? Koops can help you upgrade to an entirely new setup, too.

Running on a first–in–first–out basis, there is no need to make an appointment. From basic repairs to complete rebuilds, Koops uses excellent quality parts, cleaners and lubricants to ensure everything is operating at an optimal level. It’s no surprise then, that they also offer an extensive inventory of parts and accessories, which is one of the largest in Northern B.C. This makes Koops particularly great for enthusiasts who enjoy creating unique custom builds, and, for those DIY customers looking to upgrade their setup.

Family-owned and operated, it’s not hard to see why Koops Bikes has become a local staple for the past five decades.

Known for its knowledgeable and friendly staff, quality bikes and service, along with full-time seasoned mechanics, Koops has become a popular go-to destination for many, not only in Prince George but throughout most of Northern B.C.

Founded back in 1973 by Gys and Lynn Koops, the business has been a family affair since day one. “It’s pretty crazy. I was born and raised in the business. I’ve had a few other jobs but was always still working here for the most part. And my brother, Jeff, is my right-hand man – he's our head mechanic and purchaser,” says Marianne Koops. As Gys and Lynn start to take a step back, Marianne and Jeff have taken on larger roles in running the family business.

Mark your calendars for June 10 when Koops will be celebrating their 50th anniversary of serving the Prince George community. You’re invited to stop by throughout the day and help them celebrate.

“There will be cake, coffee, prizes, hourly draws, face painting, and a BBQ by donation,” says Marianne. It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet the family behind the business. Sales reps from some of the store's most prominent brands will also be present to help celebrate.

The Koops family has been serving generations of customers and is committed to this community. They strive to be a trustworthy and reliable source of bike services and accessories for many years to come.

More than just a bike shop, Koops Bikes is a place where the community comes together to celebrate their love of cycling and outdoor activities. This relationship goes both ways, with Koops sponsoring local cycling groups, including the Prince George Cycling Club, Super Trak BMX, and Wheelin’ Warriors of the North.

“We support the community, they support us, and we’re super grateful for the privilege to have served this community for the last 50 years and hopefully many more to come. We wouldn’t be here without the support of our amazing community,” Marianne adds. With partnerships like this and their dedication to serving this community, it’s no wonder they’ve made it 50 years.
