Youngster’s selfless act shows the spirit of the holiday season

I went to buy my lotto at our local Save On. I met a lady with a baby on her back and a little girl not older than five or six. She looked up at me and I just melted (I have three rug rats of my own grandchildren). They were with the Sally Ann.

I went to buy my lotto at our local Save On. I met a lady with a baby on her back and a little girl not older than five or six. She looked up at me and I just melted (I have three rug rats of my own grandchildren). They were with the Sally Ann.

I went shopping and on my way out I said I'll be back in a minute. In my truck I had a bunch of loonies. I came back and gave the little girl the handful. Well, the look on her face!

She could hardly reach the slots of the bucket – she managed to put them all in. I asked mom what are you doing this for with the baby?

She said it was all the little daughter's idea and she wanted to do this. Well, my reaction took another turn! This selfless act of a little girl and her mother and baby put another meaning on Christmas.

I went home, told my wife and we both had to sit down and have this all sink in! I went back to take them out for lunch at our McDonald's but they were gone. I wish them and all of you a very Merry Christmas.
