Tax, tax tax. Where does it end?
Give back a little medical cost and claw back more with both hands. What's new?
No private business could possibly survive with the incompetent management shown by the employees of the provincial government and the corporations they created. They surely do not want to lose these entities to the private sector as it is their own private slush fund, drive it into the ground and just increase rates.
Municipal governments are no better. Get some pretty little ideas and go to the tax base to pay for them. Reality check - my standard of living has gone down substantially in the last 20 years because of it, as has others. A novel idea for those who want new things such as painted sidewalks or other things that are not necessary should consider what they are willing to give up in light of cost. Paint sidewalk or upgrade school computers, your choice but maintain costs. This money has to come from somewhere, maybe try working for it like the rest of us and donate your wages if you want it so bad.
Sooner than later, governments need to start spending within their means by not having taxes (our money) on unnecessary things. I am sure we would all like many things but do only what we can afford without imposing ourselves on others. If we continue on this path, society will surely implode on itself under the burden of cost. The working people of this province should not be continually be driven down under heavy taxes hidden or otherwise. Soon the incentive to work and work productively will be gone as there is getting to be less and less reason to do so. The only thing we should be supporting with our tax dollars is health and education and transportation. All other wonderful things should be by donation or fund raising, if you want it bad enough you will find away. Keep your hands out of my pockets.
