Thank you for the Nov. 13 article by Charelle Evelyn regarding former Cariboo-Prince George MP Dick Harris.
I sincerely wish Mr. Harris a pleasant retirement and would like to answer his comment about the outcome of the recent general election.
He feels that the Liberal success was due to "a message that resonated with people who he said haven't paid a ton of taxes in their lives, don't have heavy mortgage payments to contend with or a house full of kids. "
I am older than Mr. Harris . I have paid a mortgage, I have raised a house full of children - and while not making the higher tax brackets - I have over the years paid a fair amount of taxes and I voted for change. So I can't agree with his facile dismissing of the reason for a change in federal government.
