Whose idea was it, anyway?

Re: "Why downgrade a world-class facility?"

I'm one of the "public at large" along with my partner Lou, both of us in our 80s that use the Masich place track for our laps on a daily basis. We see groups of school children with their teachers, other seniors, a YMCA group, mothers pushing buggies, along with the fit and the disabled using this facility.

Are any of us complaining about the place? I don't think so.

Whose not so bright idea was this? It must have started with one person somewhere. Was it someone in the Civic Planning department? An exercise in justifying their position?

How much was it going to cost to destroy this perfectly good facility for track and field and the many other events that take place there? Who was going to benefit from this vandalism? Follow the money.
