Thank you Todd Whitcombe for the thoughtful essay in The Citizen on Tuesday, June 26th, advocating for a school of physiotherapy and occupational therapy in the north.
"Northern Medical Program Changed everything," is a resounding affirmation of what needs to be done for health care in this part of the province.
There is a critical shortfall of physiotherapy and occupational therapy in the north.
We are understaffed and underserved.
Some estimate that our positions are only 20 per cent filled.
This is a sad commentary on the state of our health care.
I am a former physiotherapist and occupational therapist practitioner.
Whitcombe hit the nail on the head. We need a full academic and clinical program of physiotherapy and occupational therapy at UNBC now.
