Where was the consultation?

Well, Lyn, you have finally prompted me to write. If I remember correctly you promised a platform of openness and consultation.

Well, Lyn, you have finally prompted me to write. If I remember correctly you promised a platform of openness and consultation.

Where was the consultation on the renaming of Fort George Park? This was a hair-brained scheme that was not welcomed by the majority of people in the city. Sounds like more of past governments.

The closing of IPG to save money, right, but how much will be paid in severance to the paid people there now? I bet the union is wringing its hands in glee, what with the new positions opening for this. I understand that several of the IPG people were interns, that is not being paid, I can not imagine the union or city going that route, and I can't imagine senior management working for less, The old adage of the "gov't doing it cheaper, better" I don't think applies here.

Lets move to the Woody's RV denial. Here is an area of town already designed for this type of business, the planners thought what a great fit, but no, the city must be open for business, after all they just turned down a million or so development, added tax revenues, etc. Kinda rings of old policy. I know you are going to say the locals did not want it, and we know how the city listens to locals, um, Haldi comes to mind. I am sure in this instance with a little work there could have been concessions made for it to happen.

I guess a lot of our problems are a result of the council is mainly the same, not enough new faces, same old status quo thinking.

Lyn, lets start having some open consultations with the taxpayer on things that affect them, not just the special interest groups.

The taxpayers are intelligent people, they do know what they want and need, let's stop the bureaucrats from running hog wild, they work for you. You are the boss.

Lyn, if you stay on the same path, you will come to the same end, and nothing will change, and this statement goes to the councillors as well, you actually have to start making the decisions, and follow the will of the people.

Lets make P.G. a friendly, open place to live and do business, we will all prosper then.

The public is watching.
