What's good for the goose isn't good for the gander

Once again the Ironman competition is on and while I applaud those who compete, I find myself fuming at the care they get as opposed to ordinary folk.

Once again the Ironman competition is on and while I applaud those who compete, I find myself fuming at the care they get as opposed to ordinary folk. I know the competition is on for the day because they get half the roadway cleared and sanded while we get to drive our children to school( which is a 5 minute walk on summer days ) because I can't stand upright on the ice coated road. When we do try ,it's a dangerous ordeal as we have no sidewalks and have to walk down the middle of the rut encrusted road and hope the drivers will someday drive at safe speeds and watch out for us. If the road is deemed worthy of clearing for a competition then surely the rest of us deserve the same standard. Not surprising though when our mayor can't back up a raise in minimum wages but goes for increases in staff pay. I guess what's good for the goose isn't good for the gander in P.G
