Early in 1979, I met Mark Misch, a pastor of a local church here in Prince George. Today, Mark Misch is with the Lord Jesus in heaven. But while he pastored here in Prince George, he frequently made this statement, "There is only one church in Prince George!"

Theoretically, most local church leaders to whom he made his remarks knew that to be so, but practically, that really was a different matter. That was especially so, when a church member left one church to go to another local church.

I am happy to tell you the statement that Mark made so often was a seed of truth that he sowed in the spiritual soil of Prince George. Today, these many years later, I hear that statement repeated by pastors from various denominational backgrounds.

I believe that local church leaders in Prince George are working together today in a way that is more glorifying to God. Many different churches joined together in a Good Friday service at the Evangelical Free Church.

I am sure that this coming together of the churches pleased the heart of our heavenly Father. Individuals from nine different congregations participated in the leading of worship at that gathering.

Individuals from other churches participated in other parts of that Good Friday gathering. A newcomer to the leadership team of the Church of Prince George, Cal Malena, brought a thought provoking word on the mighty cross.

Our world is facing some of the most challenging circumstances of recent history.

The role of terrorism, as a means of warfare, is not limited to a typical war location. Terrorism can show up just about anywhere, from a London subway to an African inter-tribal conflict.

Safety is no longer a matter of location. For this reason, each one of us needs to be prepared by our faith in God, for whatever may occur, whenever or wherever it may occur, resulting in unexpected tragedy.

For these and many other reasons, we need one another, regardless of our church connections.
