Welcoming refugees is good, but what of pensions?

Extending a helping hand to any refugee is the right thing to do.

Extending a helping hand to any refugee is the right thing to do.

Far too much has been made of the perceived threat that Syrian refugees pose to Canadians as has the ridiculous notion that Muslims pose a threat when it should be obvious to anyone that ISIS is succeeding in their goal of pitching the west against Muslims through acts of terrorism that have nothing to do with the State of Islam.

My concern is this: how is it that the Canadian government can condone paying benefits to refugees that are double that of what Canadian seniors receive in pensions?

Welcoming refugees that will become new Canadians is fine but it is high time that the government re-examine what is paid out in old-age, military and disability pensions which is woefully inadequate and bordering criminal when one looks at the pensions and buyouts afforded politicians and senators in this country.
