Water 'conspiracy' cleared

Our coalition notes you have printed a letter: "The fluoridated water conspiracy," penned by Thomas Spanning, wherein he accuses the coalition of "pseudo-science and a fear-based argument," the usual typical, unsubstantiated, unoriginal accusations.

Also, genius chemist has made some statements that need correcting:

(1) The name of our coalition is Prince George Safe Water Coalition, not the Coalition for Safer Water. (2) The concentration of our city water is not 0.05 mg/L, as Spanning indicates, but is 0.07 mg/L - and has been since the year 2000, according to Marco Fornari, P.G. utilities manager.

(3) Fluoride can cause dental fluorosis when the individual gets an overdose of fluoridated water. The internet is replete with photos of children who have dental fluorosis and these photos are not pretty. Master chemist should have a look.

In his letter he insinuates that we "fall back to the argument found most commonly in mental hospitals."

I well remember this person at the UNBC Wellness Fair, on Nov. 18, 19 last when we had a "discussion."

One of the points I made was that in 1928 American industrialists signed cartel agreements with I.G. Farben, a German chemical manufacturing company with vast chemical plants in Germany, that the Americans were very interested in learning of German chemists' experimentation on how to maintain control of populations through mass medication of drinking water using sodium fluoride. (Actually published knowledge of this was already available from the start of the century.)

In the Russian gulags and Nazi prison camps, prisoners were given fluoridated water to "dumb them down" and make them more passive.

The Americans were fascinated with such techniques that can incapacitate the enemy or medicate an entire nation. Genius chemist had difficulty with this one, dubbing it our "conspiracy theory."

Actually, we don't do conspiracy theories. We rely on the experts: epidemiologists, toxicologists, bio-chemists, radiologists, pharmacologists, etc.

These experts dedicate their entire professional careers doing research for the benefit of mankind. Further, anyone who has read any of our material, or letters to the editor knows we have a reputation for credibility and honesty.

So, I respectfully suggest before you take the word of one person on such a controversial health issue, you check your source most carefully.

Otherwise the wronged party may just have you charged with criminal liability and character assassination.
