The organizers of the Coldest Night of the Year send huge thanks to The Citizen and others.
I want to thank Christine Hinzmann for her excellent article that she wrote on why I have felt compelled to bring the Coldest Night of the Year event to Prince George this year on
Feb. 25, a walk to raise awareness and funds for homelessness. As a talented reporter, Christine was able to put my family's story and my emotions into meaningful words. Thank you!
I have also been overwhelmed by the generosity of both businesses and individuals that are supporting this event that is raising both money and awareness for homeless people.
Business sponsors have included Ave Maria Specialties and Raymond James. We are lucky to have Curb Your Appetite and Zoe's Java House providing food. The Black Donkey has come forward to be a rest stop.
The RCMP will help as route marshalls.
So far, 18 teams and over 90 people have signed up to walk, fundraise, or volunteer their time. There is still an opportunity for others to come and join this meaningful walkathon and meal starting at St. Giles church at
4 p.m. on Feb. 25. For more information, go to bit.ly/2klUGWW.
All are welcome.
