I have recently been diagnosed with CIN3. I have been complaining of back pain and other issues for months. My first prescription was issued six months ago and finally a biopsy was done. CIN3 is apparently not cancerous but it is not far off.
I got placed on the "urgent" list and am scheduled to see someone on the 18th of July. I have three nurses in my family whom are horrified that a person whom is "urgent" has to wait three weeks. I was lucky there was actually a cancellation or it would have been September.
Gynecologists are no longer allowed to do colopscopy procedures in their offices so they have a "clinic" once a week at ambulatory care because that's all they can do as they are not funded for it yet. How safe is this for women? I have a friend who couldn't be seen here and had to be sent to Vancouver. She was all clear in February and kept telling them "no, I don't feel good." Now she has one year to live.
That's a helluva mistake.
We waited for years for a cancer clinic closer to home and I know I have donated and bought raffle tickets and all else I can to help. I lost my mother two years ago to lung cancer. How do we get more funding so people like myself are not waiting? I am one of 10 on the "urgent" list. What does a person do?
