Passing Terry Fox's statue caused me to recall two things.
One was the famous line of television's Bob Barker, of The Price is Right, "Come on down!" and the other was the plan of the city to provide a last line of defence for Terry with "prickly rose bushes".
Somebody has taken pruning clippers to those prickly rose bushes, reducing them almost to ground level. Perhaps it was a team of vandals clearing the way to "Come on Down!" for a later attack, or city horticulturists being over zealous in their neatness efforts. I suspect the later as vandals wouldn't have left the garden plot so clean.
Currently Terry's backside remains unprotected.
