UNBC faculty should leave politics at the door

It's a good thing that there is a system to elect the chancellor for the university; otherwise it would have a Liberal flag flying from the post.

It's a good thing that there is a system to elect the chancellor for the university; otherwise it would have a Liberal flag flying from the post.

The people opposed to the results should be ashamed of themselves to allow their picture in the paper as opposition.

We can now recognize the dissidents who are politically striped and not interested in the university as a learning institute for all, but only those who share their views.

That is a disgrace to Prince George and I am more than offended by it.

I had the pleasure of attending the U of Calgary as well as the University of British Columbia back when the faculty did not expose their political view or try to impose them on others. It was considered a honour to attend and attain the education of your choice.

I do not remember any partisan issues arising during my attendance to either campus except for political debate.

My son attended UNBC when it was in its baby steps.

He moved on to Calgary to finish his education.

I was somewhat upset when he said to me "UNBC is a good university only if you are female, aboriginal or a foreign student."

Now I'm not somewhat upset - I'm totally upset and very happy that I do not have to attend.

The final decision of the chancellor is not up to the faculty, and they have insulted those who chose him.
