Thank you. Two simple words used here to extend my profound gratitude to this community.
To the administrators, teachers, support staff and student body of Prince George secondary school, to School District 57, to the organizing committee of the fundraiser on Friday, June 13, at the PG Golf & Curling Club and to all of the businesses that donated items to the silent auction, and to perfect strangers that made donations, to the organizers and participants of the basketball skills training camp on Sunday, June 15, to some very special angels and their 'gang' and to the many others that have and continue to support Leora in her challenge to be stable and well, again I say thank you.
Enough money was raised to purchase several months worth of medication to aid in her battle against chronic Graft vs Host disease. Everyone knows someone whose life has been ravaged or stolen by the ferocious demon that is cancer.
Prince George is famous nation-wide for raising funds to fight this insidious disease and I'll be forever grateful that people were able to share some of that generosity with a teenager named Leora.
