Turn on headlights in foggy conditions

Foggy conditions mean dangerous driving. I like the idea of having daytime running lights on all vehicles, but what I don't like is how many drivers forget to turn on their headlights in adverse conditions...Wake up PG.

Foggy conditions mean dangerous driving.

I like the idea of having daytime running lights on all vehicles, but what I don't like is how many drivers forget to turn on their headlights in adverse conditions...Wake up PG. DRLs work great on sunny days but what people forget to do is look at their tail lights to see if they are on as well. Most are not. My Pontiac Vibe doesn't turn tail lights on during daylight hours but does when its dark.

During foggy days, the DRL sensor doesn't recognize this as anything but a sunny day and so your tail lights won't go on. You do realize how dangerous it is during foggy conditions to have a vehicle drive right up your car's tail pipe because you didn't take the two seconds to switch on your headlights? Then don't know why they didn't see you until the last second. Legislate something to force all automobile makers to have both front and back marker lights come on as part of the DRL system. Think of ways to make the sensor think it's dark outside and it turns all marker lights on. Be safe.
