Donald Trump recently announced the U.S. Treasury could no longer afford to help the hurricane ravaged U.S. island of Puerto Rico.
He also rated his presidency reaction to Hurricane Maria's devastation as a 10. Surely he means 10 on a scale of 100. Puerto Rico was in financial distress prior to the hurricane. Houston, from the ravages of Harvey and Florida, subject to Irma's wrath, weren't mentioned. Nor California's wildfire ravaged landscape.
I wonder if Trump thinks Puerto Rico is just another black Carribbean island like Haiti where, after emancipation, plans were made to ship recently freed slaves there, from their racist southern domains.
Or maybe Trump's luxurious Florida estate suffered wind damage on its golf course and he's counting on FEMA funds there?
Hollywood star power seems to be fuelling Harvey Weinstein's downfall while Trump's sexual harassment career was limited to little-known females, hence no staying power. So much for equal rights before the law. A lucky media distraction for the president.
I notice he doesn't yet acknowledge climate change in spite of all nature is doing to set him right.
Here's hoping his one positive step in releasing the Kennedy papers will not feature huge redacted sections. The release of these documents is about 50 years too late for a supposed democratic society.
