Trimming a joke

I am sending this letter in hopes that I can raise some attention to a situation that has sprung up on my property thanks to BC Hydro and the contractor that they use to maintain the trees near their lines.

On Monday, June 4, BC Hydro sent a contractor to trim the mature Douglas fir in my yard from their lines. With our permission, they came and spent hours trimming. Trusting that it would be done properly, I didn't involve myself in the trimming.

The shock came as I drove away the next day and looked back. I have a tree that is carved into an embarrassing mess in the front of my property. After spending major dollars on landscaping around this tree over the last two years, I am left with the joke of the street.

Walk down the street to the other trees they worked on that day, and they are discreetly trimmed and I am left with a tree that looks like it should be in a Who-ville video. I tried to call BC Hydro, and also have sent a letter to their customer service link on their website. I don`t expect much response unless I make it more public. I am hoping they will now come and just remove it, as now it looks like a mutant tree. Also I feel that its strength has been compromised. One good wind storm and I will have a tree in my front window. Any help that I can get or suggestions would be appreciated.
