In regards to the proposed site for the new transit garage, on 18th Avenue. I have read nothing about the geological concerns. This site is prone to flooding due to drainage from Cranbrook Hill. The measures taken at much extra cost to combat this drainage was demonstrated during the ill-conceived construction of University Way.
No matter what... as a layman, but taxpayer, nevertheless, I am quite sure we will all get to experience another poorly conceived municipal construction project.
The looming work to drain and stabilize University Way from any construction at its base is going to fall into the "who knew" category and the taxpayer will foot the bill as usual.
