I read Nathan Giede's article in The Citizen.
He assumes a lot thinking that voters are going to return the Conservatives back to power. The older I get the more I see taxpaying voters in this country are becoming disgruntled.
The last time the Conservatives took over a government, the government was running a surplus.
The first thing they did was give the wealthy a tax reduction.
They also reduced the GST by one percent during their first mandate. Net result was Canada was no longer operating with a surplus.
During their next two mandates they reduced taxes, but drove Canada's debt up each and every mandate. Had they left the tax system alone when they first took office there would not have been much added to Canada's debt.
We also found out during the Conservatives run in office that the rich were evading taxation through off-shore companies.
We than find out special deals were cut allowing these delinquent companies and individuals to just pay the tax payable and no penalties.
The Department of Justice requested files, but it seems all these files were shredded. Sound familiar?
The Conservatives have touted themselves as good managers of the economy.
The Conservatives have not released their senators, because of that I feel it's time for a new way of electing our representatives.
