Too many tickets

June 21 was a busy day at the park with the Father's Day show and shine, and the Aboriginal Day celebrations.

Hundreds of citizens attended the event; there was a real shortage of parking for all the visitors.

The actual parking lots were so overflowing, that visitors were parked on the side streets.

Prince George should be proud that we were able to attract so many people to these two great events.

What I did not like to see was the City of Prince George issuing parking tickets all day Sunday.

What is it that is so important that the City of P.G. had to spoil a nice day?

Sure if someone parked in an emergency spot they deserve a fine.

However a lot of them were issued on Becott Place at the park, where every available parking space was needed.

I'm quite embarrassed that our city would go that far to issue parking fines during these two great events.

Some give and take should be practiced at times and events like these.

"Happy Father's Day Dad, be sure you pay your $25 fine."
