I am shocked at the amount of election signage we see. The other day I drove up Foothills Boulevard and I counted 55 election signs in five kilometres. This I am of the opinion is a little much.
These signs tend to attract litter, city crews have to pull and replace them in order to carry out maintenance.
I feel its time for city council and the regional district to enact a bylaw.
The bylaw would read: Be it resolved that election signs for one political party must be no closer than one kilometre to their next sign. These signs would be the four-foot by four-foot variety.
The traditional lawn sign can only be on private property with the consent of the land owner.
