Tipping fees the tipping point

I have been reading a number of articles over the last few months regarding the need to raise the pick-up charges for this service. We're being told that we need a larger truck, also a new garage to store it.

I have been reading a number of articles over the last few months regarding the need to raise the pick-up charges for this service. We're being told that we need a larger truck, also a new garage to store it. The latest cost raising need is because the tipping fee needs to be raised. Enough is enough!

We, as taxpayers, are being told to recycle and not to over fill our garbage containers. A number of us taxpayers do recycle, either through the very capable private contractors, or by taking the recyclables to the various locations provided.

Please don't let the City get involved in recycling or they will find another way to raise the fee.

Would it not stand to reason if more people are recycling that less garbage is going to the land fill? Which is the intention. I think it is past time for the City and Regional District to start finding ways to lower the costs and stop wasting the tax dollars they do have by creating new high paying positions and utilize the existing staff. If the capital district finds the land fill site is not generating enough revenue, then they should find more ways to cut the operating cost to meet the demand instead of adding more tax to an over taxed citizen.
