It is a pity that Premier Clark hyped the LNG play so much during the last election campaign because, now that the deal has soured, she appears unable to walk away from the table. First there was the ridiculous 1.5 per cent income tax, then the revelation that she has already forgiven the companies more than a billion dollars in royalties and now we find that they can buy electricity at 35 per cent less than the top rate charged to households. All that seems to be left of her dream is the jobs but we know that many of those will be taken by people from out of province. Time for her to walk away and implement plan B.
