When is enough enough? How many times can a kid get beat up, or get severely hurt before something will be done about bullying?
My daughter was physically bullied yesterday at school, and because it's an elementary school, not much the RCMP can do, and the school board doesn't really do much as long as the proper steps are followed.
Us parents are supposed to sit back and watch our children go through this everyday, or maybe once in theirs lives if they are the lucky ones. And we can't do anything. We voice our concerns and nothing. Show the schools the emotional and physical damage and nothing. Just an "I'm sorry, and I won't do it again" or they have to pick up garbage. Our schools are supposed to be "bully free", us parents are supposed sit back and not fight for our rights for our children. And the authorities wonder why more and more cases of bullying happen everyday.
I believe when there is physical contact, kids should be suspended, and both parents, children, and school officials should have a meeting.
We are supposed to send our children out in the world to respect others, be honest, and not to hurt. What are these "bullies" teaching our kids, and most importantly what are the schools showing? That it's okay? Absolutely not.
It honestly pains me to see and know what is happening in our schools, knowing that there are kids causing some children to hurt themselves and nothing gets done about it.
So when is enough enough?
