Dear Shirley Bond, I would like to respectfully request that you examine your conscience regarding Christy Clark's "family first" agenda, and ask yourself if dismantling the public education system is really what you want to do to BC's children. I'm sure that you entered public office hoping to make a difference. Is this the kind of difference you had in mind? I am asking you to take a stand against the blatant disregard for children, and in particular, special needs children, that your government is showing. Demanding that the teachers accept a contract that will negate any future court decisions on class size and composition is not putting children first or bargaining fairly.
Twelve years of underfunding is long enough. There comes a time to stand up for what is right. Please think about it.
