Time for the facts on flouridation

RE: Leave medicating to doctors

To continue something historically that was done autocratically in the 1950s because of a perceived lack of dental health amongst P.G.'s poorest members is not based on fact. It was merely instituted based on a hidden political agenda at that time.

This is the source of the fluoridation of P.G. water. Were the targeted poor group notified of this fluoridation? No (of course not). Neither were the rest of the citizens.

In Shane Giesingers short article (March 8/13), all of Prince George has been medicated without their initial permission. Doesn't that sound illegal. Doctors cannot do this. Why is the city getting away with fluoridation of drinking water, to this day?

Are Citizens aware that the fluoride being put in our water is a by-product of industrial waste, shipped by truck tankers, I believe, from Alberta? It costs the city close to $450,000 per year. (Money that could be well spent on pot holes, care of parks, etc.)

The Prince George Safe Water Coalition led by Marilyn Juds for years has attempted to share the research indicating the negative affect of fluoride on human beings. The health unit knows.

Care for infants includes warning to not use tap water to mix with baby formula. Fluoride interferes with brain development in infants, is the reason why.

Williams Lake citizens had a $25,000 grant to gather valid research on the detriments of fluoride and brought in an expert in the filed, to present to their city council. The councillors voted to stop fluoridation of their city water, thus answering less health problems for people of Williams Lake.

Medicating all people with a harmful substance is colonialism at worst, and ignorance at best.

Let's get out of the dark ages and be proactive about creating change for the better, rather than continuing what has always been done, simply because it has been historical. The money aspect alone would be a huge asset to balancing the budget.

Mayor and councilors are you listening?

P.G. Citizens have you figured out yet which group was targeted, as needing fluoridation to give them dental care via the water? I am livid for them, as well as for the citizens of P.G. who have been subjected to fluoridation.

In conclusion, I am weary of agenda-driven politics. I would like to see fact-based research, which means the truth will be uncovered, to be the modus operandi of this city council.

Transparency is effortless. Hidden, agenda-driven politics takes a lot of extra work, time and money out of our pockets and is not in our best interest.
